Roc Ambulle Pet Nat Fronton Natural Sparkling pink, light, fruity, zero sulphur fizz. This delightful little Pet Nat comes from Fronton near Toulouse. Flip the crown cap and you can almost hear the Marseillaise playing. We don’t really know what’s gone in the blend, but we suspect Mauzac and Negrette have been involved. This zero-sulphur, low alcohol little treat is dark pink and a touch sweet. Lightly sparkling with a delicate mousse and flavours of sweet cherries and raspberries. This little number is great fun, perfect for sipping by the pool on a summer’s day, or enjoy with some strawberries at a picnic.

Producer Information:

The Côtes du Frontonnais is a unique wine making region located on the left bank of the Tarn River about twenty miles north of Toulouse.

The area is generally flat, with occasional hills that create small slopes. The vineyard’s subsoil is composed of ice age deposits, topped by alluvial soil and rouget, a material very rich in iron that lends a particular flavour to the wines. The typical climate of the region is similar to that of Bordeaux.  It is warm and dry in the summer, and mild and wet in the winter.

Chateau le Roc is very much a family affair.  The 'Bluesman' Jean-Luc Ribes took over the 38 hectare estate in 1981.  He was joined later by brother Frederic and then Kathy and Pierre.  Now the next generation, Anne and Grégoire are slowly taking over the winery.  They have always wanted to make Frontonnais with some oomph.  Soil composed of gravel and stone allied to low-yielding vines and natural production provide the foundation for this intention.

Their collection of different styles of wine are all generous, easy to like and exceptional value for money.
